New Resources added to the General Reference Collection

The General Reference Collection is an important resource for students. It contains a range of encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, directories and indexes and other tools to support research.

Our two libarians, Claudette Malah and Lillian Horokou are responsible for cataloguing and managing this important collection.

The latest additions to this collection include topics such as physics, nutrition and transport. Books are continually being catalogued so check with the Senior Librarian Claudette Malah.

School Library Survey

Posted May 2015

The National Library staff are currently visiting schools in the Honiara region to speak with Principals and Deputy Principals about school libraries.

It has been a good opportunity to explain to school Principals and teaching staff,  the role the National Library plays in helping to resource school libraries through the distribution of books, training and workshops for school library staff.

We are also completing a short library survey which will enable us to identify and assist with school library requirements into the future.
